An agile and problem-solving Operations Director who helps the entire Hungarian Panda team in working for nature and people in a financially solid and cost-efficient manner. You enjoy to build systems and smart ways of working, you know how to meet the expectations of the many donors, relevant regulations and the market reality, and you love to work in diverse national and international teams.

As an Operations Director you are:

Responsible for overall operations of WWF-Hungary, including particularly financial and administrative management, human resources, risk management, governance, and legal compliance.
Taking care of strategic and annual planning regarding operations, business planning, and risk management.
Contributing to fundraising, particularly concerning ensuring effective budgeting, including co-finance and cost recovery.

Major tasks:

Contribute to integrated planning, monitoring, and evaluation for WWF-Hungary by leading the development and monitoring of strategic and annual plans.
Lead the business planning for WWF-Hungary.
Supervise WWF-Hungary financial operations and related administrative, human resources, and monitoring and evaluation aspects in coordination with the CEO.
Ensure implementation and compliance with all financial WWF standards and policies as well as local statutory regulations.
Ensure appropriate cash flow management.
Ensure overall budgeting as required, assists and reviews country and project budgets.
Ensure ongoing accounting (statutory as well as project-related) on a timely basis.
Responsible for financial reporting (statutory, WWF internal and according to donor requirements).
Participate in cost-efficiency monitoring and evaluation, especially in the field of operations, fundraising, and staff development.
Supervise all administrative matters and the day-to-day running and administration.
Ensure appropriate procurement operations, contractual agreements, services, and other transactions necessary for the daily running.
Ensure that all administrative matters are conducted according to WWF’s policies and procedures.
Contribute to planning, implementing and monitoring of fundraising efforts, ensuring management of financial risks, co-financing, and cost recovery.
Ensure appropriate HR management in close cooperation with the Regional HR Manager and the national CEO.
Ensure the identification, monitoring, and active management of significant risks that can impact WWF-Hungary operations.
Assist the CEO in ensuring proper governance, including the timely organisation of board meetings, preparation of relevant decisions as well as documentation of results. Ensures in particular that all relevant statutory requirements are met.

Requirements:

University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
Professional finance/accounting certification is an asset
Familiarity with the NGO sector is an asset
Strong understanding of financial systems, processes, and controls
At least 7 years of progressive experience in finance and operations
Demonstrated leadership in managing finance and operations teams
Ability to provide strategic financial guidance to senior management
Strategic mindset with the ability to align financial strategies with organizational goals
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders
Strong leadership skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective interpersonal skills for collaboration and relationship-building
Strong decision-making skills based on sound financial analysis
Fluency in Hungarian and English
Experience in multi-tasking, managing parallel tasks with deadlines
